NEW BATTERY INCENTIVES STARTING 1 NOVEMBER 2024
From 1 November 2024, exciting new battery incentives will be available, making it the perfect time to upgrade your solar setup. To take full advantage of these opportunities, it’s essential to partner with an accredited supplier like us at Apex Solar.
Homes and businesses with rooftop solar can soon benefit from the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) incentives. These incentives are designed to help you install residential battery storage and connect to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP), maximising the use of your generated solar energy and reducing electricity bills.
HOW WILL IT WORK
By installing more batteries across NSW, we can ensure a more reliable and stable grid while decreasing reliance on fossil fuels during peak demand periods. This initiative will contribute significantly to reducing NSW’s emissions by 70% by 2035 and achieving net zero by 2050.
If eligible, you can access:
- Installation Incentives: Get between $1600 to $2400 off the upfront costs of a battery for homes and businesses with existing solar, depending on battery size.
- VPP Connection Incentives: Receive between $250 to $400 for connecting your battery to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). This incentive is available twice, with a minimum gap of 3 years.
For homes and businesses without solar, these incentives can be included in quotes for new solar and battery system installations. Typically, the installation incentive is provided as an upfront discount by approved suppliers.
