NEW BATTERY INCENTIVES NOW AVAILABLE
As of 1 November 2024, battery rebates are officially live—making it an ideal time to upgrade your solar system and start saving more.
Under the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS), eligible homes and businesses with rooftop solar can now access financial incentives to install battery storage and join a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). These incentives help you make better use of your solar power, reduce your reliance on the grid, and cut your electricity bills.

HOW WILL IT WORK
By installing more batteries across NSW, we can ensure a more reliable and stable grid while decreasing reliance on fossil fuels during peak demand periods. This initiative will contribute significantly to reducing NSW’s emissions by 70% by 2035 and achieving net zero by 2050.
If eligible, you can access:
- Installation Incentives: Get between $1600 to $2400 off the upfront costs of a battery for homes and businesses with existing solar, depending on battery size.
- VPP Connection Incentives: Receive between $250 to $400 for connecting your battery to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). This incentive is available twice, with a minimum gap of 3 years.
For homes and businesses without solar, these incentives can be included in quotes for new solar and battery system installations. Typically, the installation incentive is provided as an upfront discount by approved suppliers.
